The current situation has brought about many changes to our lives, to the way we work, to the way we interact with others. Many events have been cancelled, while others have made use of technology and moved online. Fortunately, we live in a time when this is possible, and we have technology that allows us to keep things running – differently, but running. People now have the chance to take courses online, for example, or even attend conferences that they would otherwise not be able to attend. What a great opportunity to keep learning and stay up-to-date.
SummerCon
From June 22nd to 25th, tekom will also hold the SummerCon, a completely virtual conference with webinars and tool presentations in German and English. The program includes topics such as neural machine translation, technical writers and chatbots, illustration-based information, and evolution through communication. Participation is free of charge. tcworld
Each autumn, tekom Europe, the European Association for Technical Communication, organises the tcworld conference accompanied by the tekom fair in Stuttgart, Germany, which offers lectures and workshops in German and English about technical communication. This year, the conference and fair will be held from November 2nd to 6th as an online event. Due to the Coronavirus restrictions, the presentations will be accessible via live streaming or as webinars, some of which will be interactive. So you can still attend and participate in some lectures from wherever you are. The fair will also be online, with many tool presentations offered virtually, and you will have the opportunity to contact the exhibitors directly. There will also be a conference app, virtual meetups, discussion groups, and additional possibilities to interact with other participants and exhibitors. Find out more about the conference here.
